Poha For Breakfast


Poha is a traditional Indian breakfast dish that is made with flattened rice flakes. It is a quick and easy dish to prepare and can be made in a variety of ways. Here is a simple recipe for making Poha

Ingredients


.1 cup Poha (flattened rice flakes)

.1 small onion, chopped

.1 green chili, finely chopped

.1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

.1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds

.1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds

.A pinch of asafetida (hing)

.A handful of roasted peanuts

.1 tablespoon oil

.Salt to taste

.1 tablespoon lemon juice

.Fresh coriander leaves, chopped  


Instructions


Rinse the poha in water and soak it for 5 minutes. Drain and keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and asafetida. Once the mustard seeds start popping, add chopped onions and green chili, and sauté till the onions become translucent.

Add turmeric powder, salt, and roasted peanuts, and mix well.

Now, add the soaked poha and mix everything gently until the poha is coated with the spices. Be careful not to break the poha while mixing.

Cook for 2-3 minutes on low flame, stirring occasionally. Add lemon juice and mix well.

Turn off the flame and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.


Your Poha is ready to be served. Enjoy it with a cup of hot tea or coffee.
