Creamy Matar Paneer

Creamy Matar Paneer is a variation of the popular Matar Paneer dish from India. It's made with peas and paneer in a creamy tomato-based gravy, with a slightly milder and richer flavour compared to the classic Matar Paneer. Here's a brief description of this delicious dish

Ingredients:

200g paneer, cubed

1 cup peas, fresh or frozen

2-3 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped

1 onion, finely chopped

1 tsp ginger paste

1 tsp garlic paste

1-2 green chillies, finely chopped

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

1/2 tsp red chilli powder (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup fresh cream

2-3 tbsp oil

Salt, to taste

Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

Heat oil in a pan or kadhai over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Add ginger paste, garlic paste and green chillies, and sauté for a minute until fragrant.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 5-6 minutes until they turn soft and pulpy.

Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well and fry for 1-2 minutes until the spices are fragrant.

Add the peas and 1-2 cups of water to the pan, cover and cook on medium heat until the peas are cooked and tender.

Once the peas are cooked, add the cubed paneer and mix well.

Add fresh cream to the pan and mix gently.

Cook for 2-3 minutes until the gravy thickens and the paneer is heated through.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.

Matar Paneer is a delicious and comforting dish that's perfect for vegetarians and paneer lovers. It's easy to make and packed with protein and flavourful spices.
