Apple Cream Cheese Strudel

Apple cream cheese strudel is a delicious dessert that features a flaky pastry crust filled with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, sugar, and cinnamon-spiced apples. Here's a simple recipe to make it at home

Ingredients

  • .1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • .2 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • .1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • .1 tsp cinnamon
  • .250 gm cream cheese, softened
  • .1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • .1 egg, beaten
  • .1 tbsp milk
  • .Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine diced apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Mix until apples are evenly coated.

In another mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a rectangular shape. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the pastry, leaving about an inch of space around the edges.

Spoon the apple mixture over the cream cheese layer.

Roll the pastry up tightly, starting from the long end. Pinch the ends to seal the roll.

Place the roll onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, mix together the beaten egg and milk. Brush the mixture over the top of the roll.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.

Once the strudel has cooled, dust it with powdered sugar before slicing and serving.

Enjoy your delicious apple cream cheese strudel!
